No. 9 Reposado Single Barrel: Apricot Brandy is one of the first two releases in our Experimental Single Barrel series, a category-first expression that honors where great spirits come from: in the field, and in the barrels that shaped them before.
It starts where every Cazcanes starts: hand-selected, certified organic Blue Weber agave, our proprietary yeast and mineral-rich volcanic spring water from Navichi Springs. Our No. 9 Reposado rested in a barrel that previously held Apricot Brandy from a French distillery. Apricots, like agave, depend on careful cultivation, ripeness and precise distillation to show their full character. As our tequila rested, it took on the warm stone fruit the brandy left behind, while the agave stayed at the center.
Bright with apricot and spice, this expression opens with aromas of orange, banana, apricot, roasted almonds, white flowers, butterscotch and vanilla. On the palate, layers of vanilla, banana and baked apple build with warmth and complexity, and a clean sea salt note cuts through the richness. The finish is long and composed, with subtle spice and lingering sweetness. Bottled at 100 proof, it's made to be sipped slowly and reveals something new with each pour.
Fewer than 300 bottles were produced. Each carries a gold medallion and a Single Barrel tag with its barrel and bottle number. Limited to 1 bottle per customer. Available exclusively on Cazcanes.com. This single barrel will not be recreated.
